What is the faculty media studio?

The faculty media studio allows basic audio recording, green screen, and screen casting. Please bring your own storage devices or access cloud for saving files (USC-C or USB compatible).

This studio is AVAILABLE TO FACULTY AND STAFF ONLY. Students should go to the San Rafael Sandbox Lab or San Gabriel Media Lab.

The Media studio allows basic audio recording, green screen, and screen casting. Please bring your own storage devices or access cloud for saving files (USC-C or USB compatible).

Faculty/Staff Media Studio Guidelines:

  • Available by request from GCC faculty and staff only 

  • Book the studio using our form

  • Maximum of 3 hours per day 

  • If you are 15 minutes late for your reserved time, your reservation may be canceled.  

  • No food or drink is allowed in the studio at any time

Studio Equipment and Hardware

  • 24-inch Mac desktop computer with basic applications (browser, Office Suite,etc.) and other software: 

  • Adobe Photoshop (requires individual login - see GCC Helpdesk for access) 

  • Adobe Audition (requires individual login - see GCC Helpdesk for access) 

  • Adobe InDesign (requires individual login - see GCC Helpdesk for access) 

  • Adobe Premiere Pro (requires individual login - see GCC Helpdesk for access) 

  • Audacity (audio recording software)  

  • Camtasia screen recording software  

  • Zoom 

  • USB Headset with microphone 

  • Yeti microphone with pop screen and desk crane 

  • Other hardware: 

  • iPad with stand

  • Lights: 

    • 1, Dracast DRX1000BN light on stand 

    • 1, Dracast DRX500BN light on stand 

  • 2 wooden chairs 

  • 1 greenscreen painted wall
